Evenie Bour is a classically trained jewelry designer and certified Gemologist with a BFA in Metals & Jewelry Design. Working from her serene studio in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, she handcrafts one-of-a-kind heirloom jewelry that fuses fine art, emotional storytelling, and tactile beauty.

How do I care for my silver jewelry?

Limit exposure to air: Store silver in an airtight container or a sealed plastic bag. Adding silica gel packets or anti-tarnish strips to the storage container can also absorb moisture.
Keep it dry: Avoid exposing silver jewelry to high humidity. The bathroom is one of the worst places to store it.
Wear it regularly: The natural oils from your skin can help protect silver from tarnishing, so wearing your pieces often can actually be beneficial

What precious metals do you use

Sterling Silver: Made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. It is prone to tarnishing but can be easily cleaned and polished.
Gold is often mixed with other metals to increase durability. 14K (58.5% gold) being popular in the U.S. for its balance of durability and cost.

Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or while swimming?

It is best to remove all jewelry before showering or swimming.
The chlorine in pools can be very harsh and damage certain metals and gemstones.
Soaps and detergents can leave a residue on jewelry, which dulls its shine over time.
